I designed a new logo for a small studio and boutique called Hippie Chick Heart. The direction given was a retro, friendly, and uplifting atmosphere. I used a stylish, bold, and legible script with large serifs and loops as the base; then customized it to be unique and personalized to the brand. One of the design goals was to combine a 70s retro nostalgic look with a modern sleek look, and this was achieved by combining flat soft edges with sharp shading and highlighting.
The Golden Peace Heart Icon
The classic peace sign is a ubiquitous symbol of hippie culture. Simply using a peace sign in the logo would come off as generic and it can't be trademarked. To solve that problem I designed a costume icon for the brand, combing the peace sign with a heart, and coloring it a very particular shade of light orange. Now the icon clearly represents hippie culture while remaining unique and identifiable to the Hippie Chick Heart brand.
Landscape Illustration
This landscape illustration was originally used as banner art for the brand's Facebook account, but would later be repurposed for many other uses.

Classic Slug Bug and Frog Illustration
The company had a classic Slug Bug with peace signs and flowers painted on it outside their store, so we decided to use it in the marketing and have an illustrated version of it used in the marketing too. Similarly the company had a metal frog outside their store that was turned into an illustration for purpose of marketing.
Business Cards
A business card design can be a strong tool for your brand. I made a colorful and exciting design so that it can't be easily forgotten by the person receiving the card. Someone looking at your business card should immediately be able to identify what your company is about and be memorable. The module nature of the design also makes it easy to have the card be unique to any given employee.
